Hello.
Is anybody running a Audi S3 or TT 225bhp engine in there Mk1?
If so how much modding is needed for the drivers side mount and what gearbox are you running?

Thanks, not a bad link that, to be honest still a little unsure of how im going to make it work but lots of information.

They want ?7500 + VAT tho!! altho it is the 225bhp TT engine.

I've no chance of doing it myself, but if I could, these guys will supply an engine, box, clock & wiring for ?1500…

just done the conversion myself if i had more time i would do it for a lot less than that

i will have a workshop soon and will be doing this sort of thing mines cost me ?1500 and that includes all the bits so you see it can be done cheap
i was looking at charging 1500 to 2000 depending on what bits were needed obviously the more bits you get the cheaper it would be to get fitted by an indipendant fitter

Im down in Devon. ive been watchin your conversion looked pretty good, sounds like you might be the guy to talk to if i want it doing or just for advice if i do it myself.

mys being road tuned tonight so been and got my brown cords out think i may need em

i must say tho you just dont realise how quick a mk1 with a 18t is its mind blowing

I'll 2nd that….they are awesome - Ive had a couple with G60's in and although running same power the 20vt just seems to fly !!!

well road tuned to a safe map its certainly no sloutch
     
theres that much torque its loosening the driveshafts lol  

I work for vw so i get to drive all the mk4 golfs and such with the 1.8t in, i know they just fly so i can imagine what it would be like in a mk1.
Ok well if i do get round to doing it you may be getting a few questions put your way, cheers.
