1.8 Turbo conversion???

Hi,
Im sure there have been many questions on this subject but i need a few answers and guidance if anyone
could help me.
Im looking to convert the engine in my 1.8 gti cabby with with a newer 1.8 Turbo from a mk4 golf.
How easy is this to do as for putting it in??? any fabrication needed?
Will i need the gearbox too? Could some one give me a list of what is needed or would this be rediculous.
Ive got coilovers all round and know i will have to upgrade breaks too.
Im a total novice to all engine things so any help would be great.
