1.8 8v digifant engine in a mk 1 ?

how straightfoward is it has anyone had it done before ? where did u have the conversion done ? or did u do it yourself and what was involved or do u know of any workshops in the south east that could do the conversion ?

how about putting the big bumper kit from a mk 2 o too a mk 1 ?

and how hard would it be to fit the power steering from the mk 2 onto the non power steering mk 1 and would i need to use the mk 2 dash for the engine conversion ? and would that be possible ?

thanks

errr.. why not just buy and run a MK11 :dontknow:

Everythings possible with enough time, ??????????? and effort but what advantage would a digipants engine have over a DX?

Mk11 PAS wont fit.

MK11 big bumpers won't fit but kits are availble or use a Cabrio Clipper kit.

1.8 8V Digifant offers no performance advantage over the 1.8 8V K-Jet, so what's the point? And if your existing engine is worn/broken, why not simply replace with another of the same type?

Sell the Mk2 for scrap, or break it and sell the bits, gradually on eBay. Sell the 1.3 and buy a Mk1 GTI.

If starting with a MK1 Driver you have to change a shed load of other stuff (have a search on here) inc welding new engine mounts.

Its not impossible but going from a late MK11 digipants to a MK1 Driver would be difficult.

Also I'd get some insurance quotes for a 17 year old with a modified GTi…..

Sorry.
