there's a good guide for the GTI conversion which you've probably read..

no idea on the loom, but for the parts, crazyquiff is the man, link to left (plus if your a member you get discount with him and loads of others too)

Yeah on the fuel side you need the tank,pump,lines,sender/fuel gauge, maybe a lifter depending.Youll also need to make up a loom from the pump to the relay.I think youll need a new fuse box,not sure which one.And you ll need to add bits to your loom or just start with a new one, prob easier getting a whole loom for the engine.Stuff like the injectors and that.I went from 1.1 to g60(1.8).Youve got alot to change but not expensive stuff.Just make sure when you remove the O/S mount you buff it all away to the chassis leg.Ive just spent the best part of an hour with a hack saw trimming bits off for the tensioner arm to get past!!!

Rear 8V Gti loom from fuse box to fuel pump required, keep your existing fusebox depending on year, S2 pref, additional relays required to be plugged in. Front 8V GTi engine loom also required. Now there are various ways you can wire KR but if you got 16V KR ecu and loom then go that way. Coil, ISV, Dist, ECU, MK1 Ign module, batt, earth  & coolant temp all controlled from that, everything else MK1 loom.
Fuel side requires GTi tank, elec pump, accum and new fuel lines. These can be plumbed into the KR set-up.
Exhaust manifold - many to choose from.
Gearbox 8 or 16V.
Hopefully that will give you a start.
