** MK1 Door Handles **

Hi All

The question has probably been asked numerous times before but i would really appreciate it if someone has some sites or links they could point out to for info to help me.

I bought a new MK1 golf velocity 1.4i last month. The car is kitted with Factory fitted anti hijack, gearlock and Dot3 alarm system.

This was no problem for the thieves that tried to steal my car last week as they managed to get into the car so easily. I have heard numerous strories of how easy it is to open a golf due to its door handles. luckily the only reason it was not away by the time I caught them was me taking the coil lead and power cable out at night as these cars get stolen so frequently in South Africa.

I would really like to find out if it is possible to implement some sort of upgrade if there is any to secure the handles. i have been researching and people has mentioned installing the armor plates underneath the handles but these would be useless as these guys simply used a flat screwdriver and forced the lock on the handle.
