Replica VIN Plates

Hi all…

Got the go ahead to start a limited production on these replica vin plates after the interest gained in the mk1 golf chat thread.

It must be stressed these are replica's and are not a direct replacement as what would have come from the factory, they could be a show plate or go as a souvenir in your service history file.

There are four colour plates for you to choose from:  Red, Black, White and Blue.

The replica plates are made from a plastic laminate which is laser etched. They measure approximately 95 x 46 x 1.7 mm. Rivet holes have been omitted, you will need to drill these yourself.

When purchasing through Paypal you will need to specify in 'Note to seller or note to merchant' the following:

See pic on my site for more info.

Your Plate - Colour?

1 - Engine Number

2 - VIN Number

3 - Weights

4 - Serial Number

5 - Code Number

All plates will come with the text 'Replica VW VIN Plate' on them as below.

Best to copy the above and paste all your info into the 'Note to seller or note to merchant' box on checkout.

Note: If any of the numbers listed above have been left blank, they will appear blank on your replica VIN plate.

Hope that all makes sense?

They are available HERE in my parts bin on my website. You have to pay by Paypal & please allow up to 10 days for production and delivery, thanking you.

Finally I would like to thank the mk1 owners club for its help and assistance, allowing me to advertise them here and to Geoff (slippy) who pushed me to make two for him!

Cheers Hugh.

Where and what are these two bits of info?

4 - Serial Number

5 - Code Number

Mk1 Rivage Cabby on coilovers + VR6 Brakes

As shown above;

4. Serial number is 2040040 (on left of vin - vertical number)

5. Code number is 1612 (under VW logo)

As far as I'm aware both number differ depending on model ie tintop cabby etc.

Hope this helps?

Cheers Hugh.

I seen these today and they are very well made, pics don't do them justice. The detail is excellent down to the small lettering which impressed me.

Hey Hugh,
Like I said, my plate is tatty and if I could get a replacement I definetly would.
This is it. Anything you could do?

Hi there and thanks for the comment.

I have had to suspend this just for a bit, as I am waiting for a sensor part to come from the USA to the UK and then to me. It's on order just waiting on delivery and fitting and calibration.

I'll update again when back up and running. I have taken down the link to purchase too.

Try this Vin Code Decoder might help you out…

Also check your service history book it may have a vehicle data sticker in it (mine does), check the rear boot sticker and inside the passenger door on mine is another bar code and serial number.

Cheers Hugh.

Hi folks - back up and running today!

The sensor part which went on our machine arrived yesterday and I fitted it this morning. It works again, just need to recalibrate the machine in the morning and hopefully ready for production again. The senosr had to be got in the USA, shipped to the UK and then to me. Didn't help when the first one went missing with DHL  :dontknow:

Hi mate. The plates look great! Can you make the production plate that goes to the left of the Vin Plate? Mine is not in good condition. I would like to paint the front and then replace with a new production plate. The only problem is that part of the plate has eroded and I do not know what numbers would have been written there. Is there a way to find this out?:|

Hi Shughy
I am looking at getting one of your highly recommended replica VIN plates and I was wondering if it was possible for you to change the wording at the top?
Currently it says VOLKSWAGEN AG but I was wondering if you could change it to VOLKSWAGENWERK AG
If you could do it, shall I pop onto your website and order one like normal but ask for the change when I put all of my other numbers and weights on the order?
Cheers,
Brit.

Hi GolyTheGolf Sorry for the delay in my reply.

No problem whatever you want the Vin plate to read I can adjust to suit. Just drop me an email or fill in the box before payment and I will look after it for you.

Do you want collection @ the agm or shall I stick it in the post?

Cheers Hugh.
