Yellow Cabriolet Whats It Worth
Since Jan this year it has had the following work carried out:
2 new front wings and a new rear valence and sills stone chipped.
New gearbox linkages.
New backbox and manifold down pipe.
New cd player
The interior is in very good condition apart from the cracks in the top door strips.
The roof has leaked on occasions into the drivers footwell, this seems only due to old rubber seals on the door and the side of the roof, not the actual roof itself although there is a tear either side where the roof folds.
as for the body work the only issue left is a small patch of rust on the bottom of the passenger side window. other than that its all good although if i was goin to keep it any longer i would personally respray the bumpers and wheel arches.
The car itself is a 1983 GLi which is now fitted with a mk2 GTi 8v engine. The car has done 99,000 and the engine 130,000 It has been in the family for around 7 years with 6 months MOT and 3 months tax left. So any help on a guide price or offers would be much apprieciated. I am not looking for top price for this just as long as it go's to a good home and covers all my costs for my vr6 with a little extra to spare. so a price for a quick sale is prefered. Thanx. Dom.

Regarding price, It really depends how the car is driving… If this is running well with no faults, it's worth ~?1200-?1400
If it's in need of a bit of attention, then ~?800-?1000 depending on exactly how much attention.
This info is based on about 2 months research in various papers, magazines, here and ebay. I am no authority on mk1 values, just my researched opinion.
Cheers and good luck,
Tony
