Not sure about the condition of the Golf in the pic, but I quite like the Pirellis. What are those centre caps made from? Hopefully not old beetle hubcaps?
Cheers,
Drew.

the centre caps are from a set of 5.5j mk1 wheels as run on drivers and gx's etc.

don't know yet got a set of p's coming and a set of centre caps. i'll have to look at how to do this. think it may have to make some frmaes up that clip them into place.
anyone got a pic of the back of p-slot cap so i can see how real one's fit?

I like the look of the P slot with the VW centre cap, I reckon they've fixed it in by bonding a standard 9 spoke GTI centre cap onto the centre of the trim. :y:
So will you be polishing the P-slots or painting the chrome centre trim?
Just remembered I had this pic:

i intent to polish them and paint the p's. like the idea of bonding a set of centre caps to them. i was planning on making a slightly longer version of the centre cap and tacking it to the back of the cap.
thanks for the piccy thats what i thought.
may make a set of aluminium caps up for them aswell yet.

what would the process be for polishing up the wheels?

the process is a ball ache.
you have to strip back all the paint (this will need the tyres off)
then spend hours with a rotory polisher (bit like an angle grinder) or mop and ever decreasing polishing compound till you get all the little scratches and imperfections out.
you will also need to this to the inside otherwise it lookcs rough.
then you can paint the P-s black.
having just picked up my p-slots i think i will give them a fresh lick of silver or pewter paint and make the chrome hubs fit as they look quite nice.
i'll take a piccy later.
there is a company that will do this for you but can't remember how much it will cost or the name. sure someone else will now.

il look forward to seeing your finished results but does sound alot of work polishing them up mine were recently refurbished so might just give a fresh coat of paint in a better colour as currently look abit dull for my liking

not sure i can be bothered polishing them (i'm lazy at times) and i don't want to have to polish them all the time. might give them a fresh lick of paint (not sure whether to paint silver or pewter opinions welcome) and see what happens. still might make up a set of ali centre caps aswell when i get a chance.

bringing back an old thread but wanted to show my new (painted for now till the tyres are dead then i'll polish them honest) wheels.
still got to figure how to attach the hub cap like the idea of bonding them to 9 spoke centres but not decided yet.

wow! those centres look AWESOME, how did you attach them, and are they the mk1 or mk2 pslots?
maybe some sort of twist type fitment in the centre hub, or something that clips over the wheel bolts?
interesting ideas, as my p-slots are already polished, this would finish it off..
