which haynes manual do i need?

for a 1990 clipper 1.8 carb ive looked on the backs and all say excluding cabriolets, was wondering if the 1.8 carb lump was used in any tin tops???    ta very much!

Mk2 Golf manual covering the same year is your best bet.

ah ok, so did the mk2 come with the same engine as i have the 1.8 carb with all the same tappet settings, clutch cables and everything?

They should be the same engine, checking the engine code will confirm. I am pretty sure the Mk2 has the hydraulic tappets that are not adjustable. The clutch cable is probably Mk1 specific due to length but adjustment is the same as any Mk1.

I got a mk2 haynes you can have, they sent it me by mistake cause I gave them my reg, rookie mistake eh.

If it's the right one it's yours. Might be GTi though, I've never bothered with it enough to look, not a fan of the mk2

if those manuals are still up for grabs i'll take them off yoour hands, just suffering the same confusion about which manual to use but think i'm just gonna use all of them now.
