what is grill 1 out of ? i thought it was aftermarket but its stamped with vw/audi logos and a part number ????

need to see the rest of the car to see the theme you have gone for mate!

Not exactly. It was fitted to all later MK1 Cabriolets to bring them in to line with the look of a MK2, therefore it went on everything from a Clipper to a Rivage.
