where to get tracking done?

hi, i need to get the tracking set up correctly on my mk1, i've been to ATS in Ilkeston and ETS in Ripley, both can't do it as its too low and the thingy won't fit around the wheels….
anyone suggest where to take it in the derby/notts area?
thanks, jimmy

I had the same problem. If you look for anyone with a digital 4 wheel tracking system they can do it. It cost me ?50 but it did work 8)

ok, been thinking…
if i winded the coils up (so the car sits higher), then get the tracking done, then wind it back down, will the tracking be ok?

nope.
you'll change the angle of the steering tie rod and thus the length required to keep the tracking in line. there are ways of doing the tracking yourself. have a google theres lots of ways of doing it (infact the way i've done it in the past is the same as the method used by btcc mechanics)

try inner circle at derby, they are on the road to the pictures, near rollerworld.  and if they can't do it try wingerworth tyres, on the main road between chesterfield and alfreton.
i have used wingerworth tyres myself for a few different things, lads are a good bunch and the lass in the office likes her dubs, think her fella has a mk1 and a camper… can be  busy and a bit of a wait.

Mk1 2l TSR G60.  .getting. There twice as fast

Mk1 lhd diesel…….getting. There for half the cost

tell em to get the old kit out and do it the old fashioned way, the laser alignment stuff wont fit on all lowered cars most places cant be bothered to do it the hands on way anymore.
