Whats this hole, under pedals? Seems mine is leaking water!
Went to the car today to find the whole drivers side, front and back footwells were pretty much flooded!
Took the carpet out, had a little clean up and noticed this hole, filled up with water…I could stick my finger in it and cause the water to overflow into my footwell. So im guessing this is the cause of my leak!?!?!
Had a look at a few shell pictures and seems other mark1's have this same hole, whats the purpose? Should it be filled with water? Any information?
This leak is seriously bad guys so any advice would be amazing.

that part is double skinned, so you have the floor and bulkhead, with that part welded across the angle.
you may find you have some nasty holes start to appear behind it if you don't get to the root of the problem.

get it as dry as possible and then spread some talc over the inside. Will show you where the water is running.
Nice tip!

Is this linked to the area im having problems with? The otherside has the same hole but is covered up by a layer of something (could feel the hole by touching about)
Another hole i found is this, which has been covered in waxoil…Not to sure water would be able to get high enough to go down there though?

I have pushed the sound deading holes through on the inside of car which has let a serious amount of water out of the trapped area and into the car. So cleaned all that up Was water on both drivers and passenger side behind sound deading holes
Problem now is how can i get every last bit out? Since the sound deading holes are a little bit higher then the very bottom of the caviaty I was thinking maybe jack the car up so much it all drains out?

but you would need access to somewhere dry like a garage.
