What to Try Next?
The Golf was coming out of hibernation last Sunday complete with new battery and 6 months tax. Anyway it didnt start. Knew I shouldnt have bought the tax. OH declared that it needed a new starter so off I went and bought one. Seems thats not the problem either.
When I turn the key nothing happens. Any idea what to try next?
Any words of wisdom greatly appreciated.

We must've been typing that at the same timeDaniel060979 said
Could be a possible fault with ignition switch and there is also a connector right at the bottom of the steering colum which leads from the ignition switch, had this problem a while ago and you would get absolutely nothing when turning the key.

Cant quite believe it. The new battery I bought had need charged. OH stuck it in today and fiddled with some fuses and its up and running. The new starter has made an amazing difference too as it had been quite lazy last year.
Thanks again guys for your help.
