What;s it worth? mint 91 Cabby sportline.

I hate these type of threads but I had to ask.

A mate is selling a MK1 Golf cabriolet Karmann Sportline Edition. As far as I know they're fairly rare for this particular model. It's red and is absolutely complete and in mint condition with original BBS wheels, recaro seats, original bodykit, etc.

I was wondering how much it might be worth. Has anyone got any ideas?

A mate is considering taking it off his hands but doesn't want to get chinned on the price.

Ill give him ?50 for it!

TBH i have seen them go for ?1500-?4000 just depends on who's selling and buying. Condition, history bla bla bla

its worth what someone is willing to pay

sounds obvious but mk1 have reached an age where book values have gone out the window

funk stars right they go for between ?1500 and ?4000 condition history etc

you will find similar ones but even the price of these can vary so there is no real answer sorry to be of no help whatsoever :dontknow:

That has actually been of some help.  I reckon he'd probably let it go for about ?2k ish because he's having a big clearout.  He's a bit of a car collector and is selling lots of stuff including a 1980 911, a 928, a 914, a beetle, a VW SP2 (which I would love).  The sportline really is in mint condition.  It's spotless inside and out.  It's completely original as well as he sells vag parts (part of GSF) so he has no problem keeping the correct parts in cars.  I'll need to tell my mate because it might be worth a punt.  I think even if he was to keep it for a year he'd probably make a few quid on it.
Cheers

As already said worth what someone?s prepared to pay. I bought mine recently and paid just short of 4k, it was advertised for 4.2K. In hindsight probably a little high to start with but I think I got a good deal in the end.

It's pretty much mint, massive history and only 75K on the clock.

Go in low and work up…it's been a crap summer, no ones got any cash and with the economy the way it is no one is spending and everyone wants cash in the bank.

I think if you hold out there?s going to be a lot of classic motors going cheap over the next year or so. Cars are being priced off the road as it is so a I hobby it's simply becoming too expensive.

october - april is deffo a buyers market as prices of cabbys plummet! (who wahts the top down in the cold and rain) but when the sun comes out cabby prices go silly again!!

If it truly is "MINT" and youre sat at home thinking 'oh could go for a drive with the top down this eve.' its probably worth advertising around the 4k mark and expect 3.8k. When youre sat at home thinking 'I'll just go and tweek the heating up a bit.' expect closer to 3-3.5k.
