It should be pretty obvious from the trim, engine and specification. Any pics?

What colour is the headlining?

Does it have K-Jet fuel injection components, in the right location, for example fuel pump, accumulator, 8mm fuel lines, brackets in the engine bay for the air box, etc etc

Plenty of ways to tell a genuine GTI from a bunch of parts added to a GLS car.

Definitely a GLS which has been converted to an injection engine. For a start, the metering head is on the right (as in Mk2), not left (as in Mk1 GTI). Then there's the steel wheels, ride height, no side stripes or trims, GLS dashboard (GTI series 1 would be black face), no oil temp gauge, silver surround on rear window rubber, smaller servo (hard to tell off pic), no oil cooler, chrome (not black) bumpers, original paint colour (its a non-GTI colour, if its not primer?) and I'm sure a number of other parts/differences if we could see more.

The only "GTI" items are the engine (which is Mk2 anyway, not Mk1), grille and steering wheel. There's the side window, door and windscreen rubbers but they could simply have been changed at some point anyway.
