What do you think??

Hi Guys.

Just wanted to pick your brains and see if anyone knows this car?

If not what do you guys think about it?? Is it worth a bid??

Might give it a go and start my mk1 dream.

Thanks for your time.

Johnny

certainly is worth going to have a look at at that price Johnny, I would go and see it before commiting to anything tho mate, cos it does need some work doing to it. Only when seeing/hearing it can you make a proper estimate of what its going to cost you to get it how you want it, 1 of the members of the club bought one from ebay recently then went 200+ miles to pick it up and it was no way near how it was described (well they had missed out a lot of faults).

I would imagine whoever is selling it will end the listing if it doesn't look like reaching the buy it now price, once you have had a new hood fitted because that one has holes in it (£300+), and possible respray because of the laquer peel and scratches (£1000+) you are getting into £2000+ for which you could get one with good hood and paint, not too mention the other fiddly defects. Good mileage and interior though.

Had a chat with the guy who car itis and he said that the reserve is the same as his buy it now  :dontknow:

Think i'm going to leave this one as i'm about to move house so havent got that much money at the mo,

I was hoping to buy it for about £500ish which would be cheap and i know i couldnt turn that down.

I'll wait til i've moved and then i'll have £2500/£3000 to play with.

If anyone know of one coming up soon or has one but is willing to wait to sell it please let me know.

Thanks for your time guys

Johnny

P.s  I cant open the buying guide for the "Buying a Cabriolet" page. looked at the "Buying a GTI" but couldnt open the other one.
