What do I have?

Hi guys,
As I have just bought my 1st Golf (GTI Cabriolet) on a J plate, I was wondering what I have ie is it a MK1! or II, if so when did they change from 1 to II?
The guy I bought it off said he thought it was a Christmas edition, it did have a white hood, but he changed it to black mohair. The interior is very good, with no rips or decaying bolsters, and the body has been resprayed in white, with recon BBS alloys, stamped with serial no, and "Made in Germany" so original!
I have a lot to do, and only yesterday the power windows decided not to work anymore, so I need to find the fuse, and replace, also the exhaust decided to "let go" on the way home from buying it!
Boot lining, window rubbers, ariel, tools to be sourced/replaced ( it didn't have a spare wheel, but I'm just putting in a foam repair bottle) then it's got a slight knocking from one of the wheels…etc…etc…etc. all the fun of owning a 20 year old plus car I suppose!
Any links to suppliers of window rubbers/felt, boot lining etc would be gratefully received, I'm sure I'll be on here a lot in the near future :dontknow:

It is a mk1, there was no mk2 cabrio, went straight from mk1 to mk3  It's too late for a christmas cab, try Cabby info to see if you have a special or a regular gti.  Good luck with your project!
