what colour?
right i have changed my mind on the colour i'm gonna paint my golf a lot of times but im ordering paint on friday and i have to make a final decision. the colour has to be plain gloss because i'm gonna have a try using rustoleum an enamel paint which can be rollered on in many layers and flatted with wet & dry……. so i can't use metallic paint. origionally i wanted green, then orange, now light blue grey…….. so i'd like to know what you guys think?
im swaying towards the top right blue with a black leather interior and the grey blue to the left of it?
any opinions would be welcome…….i need some outside influences!
(its a 5door gx with full chrome trim and i'm smoothing the hatch and rear doors)

Yeah i like this orange colour too.. the blue you like is nice but i think if you are going to the effort respraying and its not a VW colour then you may as well go the distance and choose something a bit different..
Really like the orange, there is a young guy on this forum who has rebuilt his mk1 himself and he choose orange and i really liked that one too.
Thing is its nice looking at these colours but what it would be like to live with day to day?!"?!?

this is what i was thinking, its gonna be a daily. i've always said understaded rules, and the orange definatly isn't understated  but it is nice……Hmmmm. damn it, im so indecisive

bottom left and right are amazing, it's my ambition to own a mk1 that colour!!
thing is, this colour, and infact most of these, will only look right if u go for a very minimalistic continental look?
The orange is cool, but I think my second choice would be the blue/grey in the top right and middle.
I drove an aqua orange smart car for 3 years….loooots of looks, but then it was a smart car. The new ford focus in this colour doesn't warrant much head turning, people will only be oggling cos it's a sweet mk1!
Whatever you decide, hope it turns out sexy, and be sure to hsow us some pics!!

You work to live, forget looking understated who wants to blend in to the background anyway!
A MK1 should put a massive smile on your face even if your just looking at it!!
But saying that I do like that dark green  !!

I would love a blue mk1 (like top left and top middle), but I have to admit the orange looks great on a mk1 - I could live with it everyday, it would brighten up any Monday morning!

swaying towards the bright green at the moment, found a leather interior for it today and found some chrome mk 2 f**d escort bumpers which should fit! and at a tenner each worth a go. ops:
the paint is rustoleum. its all expained below but its a really long thread 8O
Looks really interesting and for the price the results look great.

green, i think thats what colour mines gonna be. i`d` go for a slightly lighter and brighter colour than the green in the bottom left though.

Who needs understated, go for something really bright 8)
Plus blokes will love your car because it's a mk1 and the girlies will love your car for the nice bright colour.
There, it's win-win.

Oh yeah, go for a light bluey one. I saw a V reg mk1 with small bumpers at BVF in something along those lines (near the trade area, anyone?) and it looked just stunning.
Either way mk1's look really nice in pastely simple colours.
Got to keep it simple with those though IMHO.

Hehe, I'm talking to myself but I reckon Marlin Blue with black small bumpers, no chrome, no trim with a touch of smoothing slammed on some nice wide, deepish, not too big rims…………..
You've got me thinking now, might book some overtime and start saving.
