What colour is this and where is the VIN?

Any ideas what colour code this is and where do I find the the VIN plate?

The chassis plate with VIN is on the slam panel. Open the bonnet, front left (ish) of the engine bay, black plate near your knees.

It's also stamped on the scuttle, bit between the engine bay and windscreen.

Hope that helps and apologies if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs.

Does anyone know at what point the WVWZZZ–ZW——- chassis number started as on the logbook it has the numbers but not the letters as above?

August 1980 - before that was 10 digit VIN that was stamped on LH front suspension turret, not on the scuttle.
