Warning

Whilst driving on the m62 late at night the power in my cab disappeared and I had to coast onto the hard shoulder. After having a look around the car I noticed the accelerator bush which holds the cable to the accelerator pedal had perished and popped out onto the floor. You can imagine what might have happened if it was rush hour  8O

SO PLEASE CHECK YOURS

the same thing happend to me its a horrible feeling!

i pushed the end of the cable as far as i could then used a cable tie to stop it coming through the rubber again and has solved the problem!

is a bit of a bodge but could keep you driving untill you get a new rubber!

Happened to me as well, I bent the end up slightly so if the rubber goes it will catch on the metal hole of the pedal.

have replaced on both of the cars

it happened to my Dad in the GL when he was driving along, luckily not on the motorway though

actually VW ordered two in by mistake, and i kept one seeing as it was so cheap, which worked out well because then we could put it on the GLS.

If only they ordered other parts in twos, would save a lot of time!
