Wanted: Mk1 with a sunroof to sit in in hitchin

As per the title. I'd like to see if I fit into a mk1 with a sunroof ( I'm 6 ft 4 in).

Be hugely grateful if there is anyone around hitchin herts that would let me sit in their car to test it….

hi cant help with a car but im 6 ft 6 in and i have had several mk1s some with sunroofs, depending if your height is in your legs or your body depends if you fit.sunroof takes about 2-3" of head room so if its tight you may have to look for a non sunroof (or convertible!)
but if you really need a sunroof the answer is fit a height adjustable drivers seat, sciroccos had height adjustable seats as did later cabrios (drivers side only) just get knackered seat and swap the golf trim over to the adjustable base, its a lot easier than it sounds and will gain you a good 3-4" of head room

i'm 6'3 and fit in ok with it, more so with the seats mentioned above

I've got a mk1 Campaign with sunroof and I'm in Hitchin, but sorry it hasn't got any seats in it, well to tell you the truth it hasn't got anything in it at the moment as its a bare shell.

I've found one I like with a pop up sunroof which I don't think intrudes into the cabin as much.

Jezzer - do you have the seats?  Could I come round and just rest a seat in it and try it?
