VW parts re-manufacture for Mk1 Golf
After a lot of time and discussion I have finally got VW Germany interested in re-manufacture of some more Mk1 Golf parts.
In order to make case by case decisions they need some more information from me. I am trying to gather the following:
- Part needed. Please specify all relevant information, but especially year, engine/transmission, model and other details where necessary, ie LHD/RHD, colour, RHS/LHS, etc). Preferably provide the part number.
- Volume. How many would you be interested in?
Clearly they are only going to be interested in those parts that represent a decent margin and volumes are being gathered from the largest markets, so no promises can be made at this stage. The parts will of course be OEM spec, not copy/repro parts and as such will come with VW quality, warranty and price (and fit properly!)
So please specify this info and I will gather together and pass on.

I would be interested in the full complement of rubber window/door seals. Oh, and all hood seals too. I assume the price will be pretty hefty, though?

Thanks for the info, but please be specific in your requirements. For example door cards and fuseboxes - there are dozens of versions across cabrio/2 door hatch/4 door hatch, year, model, trim colour, etc! It won't help you if '83 2 door GTi black door cards are made if you have a '79 4 door GLS with brown door cards!

'82 GTI fusebox (Rev. B/C, can't remember the P/N but could get it if needed)
probably the earlier GTI fusebox would be popular (this is Rev. A and differs from the later revisions considerably)
GTI Seat bolsters (don't know if there's a difference between early and late?)
Series 2 Hazzard switch
that's all that spring to mind right now, will post up any more if they come to me

I was thinking as regards to doorcards, blank so you can cover them yourself, it would be easier to be made in both 3 & 5 door without extra cost and can cover everyone, as i for example can remove the leather from my current ones and refit to new blank carding as some of the pin locations are goosed when been removed in the past

They should put back the old mk1 dash in, since upgrading to polo interior, really gives the car a worser look
