Been looking for an original one of these for ages with no luck.
Then I stumbled across these at VW heritage! Literally just come in stock today. Bought myself one. I'll post up pictures once I have it on. http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Blind-Rear-Window-Golf-Mk1-Ivory-WC845501_act_shop.product_pID_137388375_lang_EN_country_GB.htm

Are you talking spraying the blinds black or the whole thing including the mechanism part?

Here it is, not fitted to the car yet, will do this weekend.
To be honest its pretty simply made, the mark up must be huge! The slats are paper thin, just like office blinds from the 80's that bend easy when you pull them down for peeping through the window . But it works well, its light weight and I'm sure it will look cool in my mk1! I just put the slats in quickly, I think I have them the wrong way round looking at the VW heritage site, but easy and quick to flip round, then will obviously line up all the slats perfectly too. few pics of it, then will post up pics fitted to my car this weekend.
