VW Golf mk1 1.1L '79 - need an opinion

I'm a new member, so firs I want to say hi to everyone
And since I'm not from an English speaking country I want to say sorry for any spelling mistakes.

I am looking forward in buying an mk1 Golf. A have few photos of one in which I am interested at this moment, and I would be glad if You could say your opinion is worth buying and overall condition.

It's a 1979 Golf mk1 1.1L. The price in your currency would be 347? (1600 Lt). It has a 4 speed gear box, which I would like to change to a 5 speed. Also (most of you will be angry maybe), but I would like to change the whole panel to a newer '83 panel with a tachometer. Is it possible and hard to fit a tachometer if there wasn't one in the first place to a 1.1L?

P.S. the pictures are not at their best quality, but that's what the owner sent me.

P.S. 2. The black parts on the engine which look like new are really painted new.

Thanks guys, if something will pop to your heads please don't be silent readers. This will be my first mk1 and I want it to be good, any opinions are welcome.

Me and my dad will go and check it out on Monday I think. Its not easy to do that because it is ~200 km from where I live. I really starting to like those retro older Golfs, Series 1 you call them I've noticed. This one has done only ~150 000 km - but there is a possibility that it is altered.

So far thing are looking good +/-, will see how it looks in real life.

Cheers!
