VW FLIP KEY BLANK - Now very happy :)

Has any one used this web site?

http://www.keysforvw.com/diy.html

I ordered a blank off them 2 months ago, still not recieved it.    I e-mailed them and asked weather it had been shipped and they replied and said they had recently moved locations and it would be shipped in the next week.

Now they are ignoring my e-mails, so I decided to open a disput on Paypal to get a refund. I actually still want the key blank. BUT PAYPAL HAVE SAID THAT BECAUSE IT IS OVER 45 DAYS OLD THEY WON'T DO A THING!

So i'm $18 down and have no flip key blank. I paid for the insurance aswell, GUTTED.

why not just do it your self.....just get a flip key from ebay, remove the blade, chop your blade off your key to the same size, and then cut in the small groove that the locking pin sits in to your key and job done. im sure ive seen a guide on the net too somewhere...

Will probably end up making my own, i've already got a mk4 flip key. It can't be too hard, I was just megga annoyed with Paypal saying if it's over 45 days old then they won't do anything. It might still turn up, won't hold my breath tho.

speak to peddersgolf. he did his own.
go get one cut though rather than use you existing key. and get a look at the blank to make sure it's got lots of spare metal.

Look at what i've got now!

I bit the bullet and bought another key blank from America, this time from a guy on Ebay. I thought that now I know exactly how long to wait, then lodge a complaint to Ebay and to Paypal. But fair play to the guy, 1 week later, and now I have a Mk4 fob with Mk1 stle AH key!

Similar cost, about ?11.50. But i've found a guy in the UK that can supply the key blanks for ?7!!!!

If you're interested let me know and i'll post the link to their website.

sorry ebo, i got rid of this key a LONG time ago! I didn.t like how close the mk4 fob part ended up so close to the steering wheel cowling. Shouldn't think there'd be too much difference between the Audi and VW fob :dontknow:

As with making the fob work a solenoid, sorry again, not too sure.

Hey guys,

I got a key off ebay for £7 and got a blank cut in the local key shop for £6.

With a bit of careful dremmelling, I also managed to get the little circuit board from the moss alarm fob inside so that it works off on of the standard buttons.
It was quite a small board though…:

My friend that is truly immense. One minor question before I go ahead myself, How in the name of Zeus's buthole do you remove the old key and attach the new key to the fob (in moron terms please and detailed pics if you can pleease!!!!)
