Turned a bad trip into a good one...

Packed the family up into the car yesterday for a 320 mile round trip with the intention of collecting a cabby for the wife. Unfortunately we'd only seen pictures of the car and when we got there made the very difficult decision to walk away!!
Earlier in the week i'd travelled to Wilmslow to view a cabbie needing a bit of a light resto but convinced myself that the boss wouldn't be interested in one needing some work so walked away from that one.
Anyway on our way home she got the map out while sat in some traffic and commented that Wilmslow wasn't too far out of our way and wouldn't it be good if she could have a look at it. Well a couple of texts to the owner and the detour was made.
She saw through the bodywork issues and gave me that look which meant she wanted it!! So a bit of haggling followed by a handshake and the deal was done.
Collecting our new 1.6GL Cabbie on Wednesday. Will start a topic and get some pics up.
The main thing is its solid in the right places, has a strong engine and box, the interior is complete but grubby and the roof has been replaced in recent years. Needs doors repairing/replacing, drivers wing, bootlid and a respray.

Nice one mate and well done for walking away form a dodgy car after such a long drive. That can be really hard but you did the right thing!

Booked in at the bodyshop Wednesday afternoon.
Collected a pair of wings and doors from a top bloke, Sean (smokeybubbles) FOC.
Will post some current pics on Wednesday before i take it down the bodyshop.
