trying to track down my old Mk1 GTI

My name is Tim and
I was the first owner of this 1980 Mk 1 Golf GTI, Black with many extras added before it was sold to a VAG garage in Farnam in 1984/5. It is still insured so hopefully still alive the reg is
TBF 358W

I am trying to track down the cars location and see if it can come back home.
I have very few pictures of the car as my ex wife probably burnt them all!!

any help would be appreciated

yes it was all fitted in Germany, I was in the forces

Also looks like a dw grill? I have only ever seen 1 of those and I owned it, i brought it from a guy on here, so there might be a chance the current/prior owner is on here (assuming its the same one?)

DVLA shows TBF 358W as SORN till 01 07 2013, so it seems to be somewhere.

Tim, DVLA have a form you fill out and for a small fee they send a letter to the owner. I believe they send your details and it's then up to the owner to contact you.

had a letter back from the DVLA this week saying they cannot help , so not any further on the search at the moment. Anybody have an ideas for tracking the car down :dontknow:
