Trying to find A47 TFE, my old Campaign

Hi guys, I know this car is still alive and well in the Southampton area. I owned it twenty odd years ago and would really like to see it again so if anyone knows of its whereabouts/owner please pm me, cheers :)

Couldn't believe it! Was at No Rice last night taking some photos, turned round and saw a silver mk1……not too many mk1's there so thought I'd get a couple of shots of it. Went over and yes you guessed it A47 TFE!! :) First time I've seen in in 17 years and oh, how its changed!

It has no interior other than the two front fully harnessed recaros'. Full roll cage. Drivers window is perspex with a small sliding panel in the centre. Dont know what the wheels were but painted gloss black. Bonnet pull rings fitted, twin headlight conversion gone and was running on a Corrado engine with Yamaha bike carbs!!

I have got some photos but having problems with my camera/pc at the moment. Apparently the current owner is number 13 and has only just bought it. I'm sure he loves it, but as nice as it was to see it again, I'm a tad sad that its no longer a Campaign as I knew it.
At least its still on the road/track :)

Shame as you say, but it's still going so that's good news. Nothing is irreversible !

I know what ur saying, but if you'd seen it I think you'd agree that it would take a shed load of money and a lot of luck to source original parts to turn it back into its former glory. I can only hope that the interior went to a good home unless it was trashed before the conversion cos it was mint when I sold it :( I did have some stupid romantic idea about finding it in a reasonable state and being able to buy it back and sort it, but not to be in this case I'm afraid.

At least someone is still getting a lot of enjoyment out of it :)

If you are that in love with the idea of re owning it just go and do it.  Put it in the garage and slowly turn it back, selling all the newer parts to fund the originals

As long as the shell is not messed with then turning it back to stock is easy.

You would prob sell the engine conversion for more than it would cost to source the parts.
