Tracking down a mk1 golf

Odd question this maybe…I had a mk1 golf as an 18yr old ( i still know the reg ). My son is now 17 and is incredibly keen on driving my old car. I have looked on the free dvla website link to enquire on the car and it says the last date of liability is "01 01 1995"

Does this mean its been scrapped… or how do I find out ?

You an always check the registers on the left hand side - or you can go to a my car check type website, put the reg in and you'll know whether it's still registered. go onto askMiD and you'll know if it's still insured, and therefore probably still on the road.

Only problem is that you'll struggle to find where the car is now…

askmid says is not registered and as I said the dvla says the it hasnt been taxed since 1995.

Is there a website were I check for scrappage or check what happened to a registration number ?
