Oak Green GTI?

They never did an oak green Mk1 (except for 2 specials), if they did then its uber-rare and maybe best kept as original. If its a Mk2 or later, then stick it in if you like.

100% an Oak Green car matey………….

It's in need of restoration which I'm planning to do once I've finished the wife's '67 Bug - At the mo, she's using it as her daily driver.

The guy I bought it from only had it for about 6 months, he bought it from the original lady owner. I've spoken to her, she bought it from a VW dealer in Germany back in '84 and used it daily up untill a few years ago - It's got 240 odd thousand miles on the original engine and is still going strong.

From what I've read GTI's were available in a greater choice of colours in the rest of Europe, is yours a personal import Harry?

As already suggested its only your opinion that matters. Dont build your car to suit anyone else unless your planning to sell.

As I've said, the car was bought from a VW dealer in Germany - back in the day. I'm going to call the original owner again as she said that she's still got a load of history on the car. I've parked it next to an Oak green 16V Mk2 and the color is exactly the same…………

As for the blue top tint, I think I'll leave it. I had one on my old black Mk1 and it looked cool but I don't think it'll look 100% against the green.
