After what they had done to the Astra, the AX GTi and the XR3i ….

When a mint Campaign GTi appeared at the garden centre, I just yelled

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Huge sigh of relief that it survived!

       

Looked nice too!

lol first thing in my mind was "no way will they trash that"

they love the mk1 so i wouldnt think they would destroy one.

I was watching it with all my friends and mrs and they all were laughing at me so glad they didn't do anything

Got text from cousin in brisbane it read "bet your having a w**k when mk1 was on topgear" lmao
I did not think of anything like they would damage it, as we know clarkson as a love for them.

good thread, but has anyone else thought this series is bloody crap not as funny this series, they do have seem to tone it down, or the producer has lost the ability to think up decent stuff

Not their best series, but watchable, and… occasionally funny.

I quite liked the ford getting trashed as my best mate is a ford lover and I was giving him a load of stick for the escort and when the mk1 came on he just giggled until they left it

this season was really short only 6 episodes! Bit crap really. Has lost slot of it's funness but still entertaining on a Sunday evening

Its still the only thing worth watching on the box.

Loved the numberplates anagrams on that feature  

On a sobering note, it did point out the almost complete erradication of the manufacturing sector in this country

So it wasn't only me on the edge of the seat praying they wern't going to harm what looked like a mint Campaign.

I was really relieved they didn't trash it. I had thoughts of writting to the Beeb or even making a personal appearance at HQ…

So whos MK1 was it- I thought it might be someones on here?

didnt see it last night, got it recorded on bbc hd, also managed to record and sort of watch Wheeler dealers on discovery shed (11 last night) it was the 2 episodes for the mk1 gti, First time i actually managed to see that one

I thought it might be VW's one, but that ones nearly always has a MK1 golf plate on so don't know its reg

i know Top Gear can be quite hard to get tickets for but has any of the Mod's / Comittee thought about approaching them to see if we could get a MK1oc day up there to watch a show being filmed? we could all wear club t shirts / AGM t shirts and maybe they could link it to one show where they use the Mk1 ?

long shot i know, but just an idea that popped into my head.

Even better let us all use the track after in our cars :-)
