i,ve only had the mk5 since last saturday, so i dont know. but what i do is i,ve had the mk1 about 7years and i dont think i,ll ever sell her.  :wink:

I have the same pairing - however my mk1 is in slightly worse shape than yours!
Had my mk5 gti 4 years & can't think of anything to replace it with ;-)

Nice, popular combo mk1 and mk5 it seems.  My two golfs are R32 and series 1 GTI.

I think the shape is getting better slowly, Mk3 was awful looked like every other car on the road.
