The guy from GPC in Luton puts them on ebay every few days, his user name is CHUBBNUT.Ive dealt with them a number of times. If there is none on ebay at the moment just give them a call. They advertise in the vw mags and have a website so u can get their number on there!

x2

People seem to forget there is a VW Dealer chain, some (most) parts are reasonable price and many things you might think aren't, are still available. You get decent service and none of this aftermarket rubbish or part number confusion which is so typical with many other parts suppliers.

Go to a different dealer then. They're franchises, not directly linked to VW, so in effect they are in competition with each other.

or try TPS (trade parts specialist) these are the big spares places run by vw that feed the dealers, http://www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/

I have seen folk say they are only trade…this is poo poo, they are all open to the public and have a counter you can bang on for service  :D

If you have access to ETKA or know some one with it its even easier as you can just quote the part number you want.

Avoid that chubbnut user (GPC)  They're tossers.

My Mk1 failed on a split steering rack gaitor, easily available and cost me ?10 from my local VW parts specialist (Continental Auto Spares in York)
