Take car off road over winter, or drive as normal

Just wandering what other people do, last year i took off over the winter months and just covered the cab as i don`t have a garage. Then back on road for summer.

What i want to no is what other people do, and the pros and cons of either. I am thinking of using all winter. As i mean the car was designed to be used all year round anyways.

Let us no what you reckon

Knowing the British weather, the winter will probably be sunnier than summer! I'm keeping my cabby on the road and usable, except its a 2nd car anyway so it doesn't get regularly used. I'll take it out once or twice every couple of weeks or so, so that things don't seize up or go funny.

The black Golf is now MoT-expired but I'll work on it and then MoT it ASAP.

The silver Golf won't be seeing the road for a little while yet…..

suppose it depends on what you've got, i mean if i had an imaculate 76 gti or campaign then i dont think id want to use it through the winter months but if i had a one the was a little rough round the edges then i wouldnt mind, personaly i wont be driving mine cos its still in the bodyshop  :D

Our car only gets taxed for six months of the year, and never goes out in the wet.  It will be garaged all winter and the battery will be disconnected.  I don't think it will be a big problem as it stood for 4-5 years anyway so six months off won't harm it.  But it is our second car so it's really just for fun or a Sunday.

It's not in perfect condition but i don't really want it to get exposed to the elements.
