Do you have a sunroof?

If so, it'll probably be blocked drain holes/ tubes.

Also try the drain holes in the scuttle pannel.

As above. I had similar problems, turned out the drain in holes in the scuttle panel were chock full of c***. Cleaned em out and no more leaks.

water in footwell help.

ive had this problem last winter, i found it was leaking from the sunroof down the headlining and A pillar post the into the little void in the bulkhead (between the footwell and bulkhead). If you pull back the carpet and soundproofing to bare the metal etc then there will be holes in that little void coverd by the origional sound proofing. I punched one of these through and blow and behold it was full !!! of water . In that void there are drain holes for the water to escape if ever it gets there but vw has kindly not spared with the cavity wax and then that gets warm over the years it runs to its lowest point and bobs your uncle will enevitbly swamp those holes. Check it out and tell me what ya got. good luck mate.

Under your seals there is a metal trim, remove these and put some new gaskets on. Iirc there obsolete from vw but I stock a alternate.

UPDATE

Ive taped up the window, checked under the scuttle tray and the water is still pouring in my cabby!! It now looks like its coming in on top ov the windscreen pillar behind the beading and dripping in from there. Im at a total loss on how to stop it. Ne suggestions? The Drivers side footwell is soaking.

easy mate, just drill a hole in the floor for the water to drain away or get a boat water pump.

Ok so you know the location.

It's either the header seal, or the main door seal.

Try turning the hook on the lock handle 1 turn tighter.
