svo biodiesel wvo

just been reading up on alternative fuels for my diesel and i am now completely confuzled to what to do. two tanks different ratio's advancing timing pre heaters my heads in a spin with info.

does any one on here run  anything else apart from diesel and whats it like?

i run petrol an its fine, it just costs a bomb an dont last long  

its like talking to children here sometimes lol

wooders anything to add?

in a diesel engine

i run lpg in my other car and don't fancy running a diesel at current fuel prices

where i work they ave 20 50 gallon drums with old chip fat in we were debating it the other day if it could be strained you could run an engine for life if you could get the engine to like it

only kiddin,  chip fats good but bid no no due to the smell, 5-0 dont like it, if you could cover the smell up it would be a little better

if you filter it and get all the water out  a diesel will run on it i been all over here and still confuzled to what to do

got no room for an elaborate filtration system etc

but i do want cheap fuel

filteration good pair of the mrs tights will do the trick water may be an issue tho

I run the same and its always been fine in my car,

Why dont you do a back to the future delorean mk1 golf and get it to run on household rubbish.It worked for them  :dontknow:

Rov,keep away from svo forums,you will panic,just do like ive been doing for 7 years now,go to makro,buy 10 20 liter tubs of ktc cooking oil at ?10.49 which is 52P liter,drive home when tank is empty put ?10 diesel in,then 30 liters of cooking oil job done start and drive,no fuss,no filtering,ive put a home made heat exchanger on my jetta TD for the colder months,if it runs lumpy turn the heater on for 5 mins…..jobs a good un  :wink:

Wholesalers,or anywhere thats cheap,just get the cheapest oil avaliable,mine prefers KTC it dont like spry crisp and dry

so want to pay about ?10 for 20 litres to make it cheap good good

went to my local cash n carry and said i had to be business registered to buy stuff but i notice that 20 liters was ?11. i nipped along to asda and they have 3 litres for ?1.59 so i brought 6 tubs (18 litres) put in with ?5 fresh diesel (5.sumin liters) and she runs sweet as a nut and works out to about 55p a litre yey!

Just out of interest, did you make any adjustments to the idle
speed, timing etc.. and does this work on any car?

NO adjustments,only works on these  :wink: with no spark plugs.

Yep, got a Diesel Citroen, just fancied trying it out!

MK1 is petrol.
