Studio Photo of your car!

Studio Photo of your car!

I work as a 3d cgi modeller and i'm thinking of doing a model of a Golf 3 door MK1.

It would be similar to this Datsun i did a while back.

Once the models i done, i can make the car any colour/background/decals/wheels etc.

I'm wondering if for say about ?20, there would be any interest here for A4 sized 'photo's' of your car in a studio environment?

I think it would make a nice framed print, any one interested?

If i get enough people interested i will do it. Its probably about 60 hours work, so i'm testing the water before starting!!

Sounds like an interesting idea but call me Mr Thicky, I'm not exactly sure what it is you're offering. Are you going to take an image of one car in a studio and make it like like another by changing the wheels etc and then offer that to everyone? I ask cos if I wanted it done of my car I'd just want it to look like my car but then it'll just be a picture of my car.

Once the base model is done, i can change wheels/ride height/colour etc etc to suit each individual car.

Basically it would look like you had taken your car to a photographic studio, for each individual image.

Does that make better/any sense?!  :?

It's probably me not explaining myself well to be honest!!  :dontknow:

Thats what the model looks like before i paint it etc, that might help my poor explanation!!

Well, i decided to model a golf just for fun anyway, here is the final view of it, i am thinking of doing a limited print run, possibly 50 signed and numbered prints (maybe with 'MK1 GOLF' on the number plate). Might make a nice Christmas present in a frame?

I dont get this..

Why would you want a photo realistic of a car that looks like a pretend mk1..

Its out of proportion - surely just a proper photo would be much better????

Yea this could be really cool.

Unfortunately it looks like your first attempt is well out of proportion and really boxy??

Good work but needs refining mate

Have a look at this site, this guy creates some fantastic 3d renderings of cars and I believe this is the sort of thing your trying to achieve. I guess people do this sort of thing as something different to just a photo, canvas prints and pop art are pretty popular too. You could produce images of what peoples projects will look like when there finished. D M Multimedia | Home Page

just out of interest, what software are you using for the 3d modelling & rendering

That guy is a genius, shame he hasn't done a MK1 Golf, Caddy or Jetta.

cos it's hard to get a pic that is as 'clean' as a rendering.  outside you have other cars, weather, dust, leaves etc etc.. you also get reflections of other stuff on the car so you might not see the lines and details as well.
also my car doesn't look that good yet! i'd like a pic of 'the finished product' before it's finished lmao :P

i think it's a good idea, for 20quid it's a bit of a bargain really.

BEWARE KY05 UCO, blind and deaf white haired driver of red transit, avoid at all costs, he thinks running cars on to the verge is ok. i'm fine, car's fine, mood and make up not so good.
