strut brace

im putting a 6a with kr head but runnin injection so the inlet manifold will still be on. would i be able to use a normal mk1 strut brace or will i need a custom one?

just not sure whether a normal one would clear the engine

It wouldn't fit with a standard brace. The inlet manifold would get in the way. I ended up buying a Trimsport MK1 16V strutbrace to fit on mine. This has the right curve and fits behind the inlet manifold with no clearance issues. I have the brace for sale if you are interested.

do you need to relocate the header tank with a 16v brace?

I thought that I saw one with the work done once…

Hi, I had to on my MK1 Cabriolet (Header tank seems to be fitted higher up) No problem on any on the tintops I have had.
