Strange aftermarket front square headlights

Anyone seen these before?
Spotted on a US import Mk1 Cabriolet.
The owner said it was a genuine Hella product.

I'm pretty sure that I've seen this front end on a Mk1 Golf in black in Sheffield a year or two ago.  It had a sort of ribbed bodykit on it too, if memory serves, and it all looked a period set up.

Doesn't do it for me guys I'm afraid.    

I think zender made a square light grille for their body kit. Have a google of it. Some pics on here if you search.
