Here's an old tailpipe thread
I think a round 2.5 to 2.75inch diameter single tailpipe is best, either straight cut, or with an outward rolled lip. Just depends how subtle you want the difference to be if your forking out lots of ??.
Where are you going for it doing? I had a Powerflow system on my old corrado and that was excellent and cost about ?300 from the manifold back with 2 silencers. There's a guy (Phil-J) over on retro-rides forum who is making custom s/s systems at a fair price too.

i'll be changin the box for a carbon fibre race box off an R1.
i think s/s is the best way, may be pricey at first but a std exhaust can be around ?150+, so whay not double it and get 5yrs+ out of it.
