some numpty hit my car

had a really good weekend in kingston and woke up to a lovely day so decided to put my roof down and head back home to kent.
was loving the sunshine and was just pulling in to a garage forecourt to get some petrol when the person in the car in front put his car into reverse and smashed into the front of my car  :evil:
so i got out and made sure i called him a select few profanities before pointing out this was a classic car! LOL
he has pushed my bumper back which has also pushed out the front arches, the bumper is warped and the paint in cracked and my manifold is blowing  :cry:  :cry:
i got his details but directline is not open for claims today so tommorrow will have to ring.
im soooo annoyed  

does anyone know of any good bodyshops in the south east?

They will probably right it off!

well luckily its on an agreed value policy with salvage retention so if they do write it off i get ?1500 plus i get to buy my car back for scrap price!

Doesn't matter if they want to write it off, if it wasn't your fault, you have the absolute right to insist that it is returned to its pre-accident condition.  And at the garage of your choice, not necessarily one on the other insurers approved list.

yeah, my dad got that when his car got pummeled by hail stones last year

although the first garage that he tried (under the claim payout) ruined the job and left it worse than when it went in.

this meant that if he claimed again, they would write his car off, but he used his victor meldrew technique and he got the insurers to give him ?2k to 'be quiet' about it… so he got 2 resprays for free (he cancelled the cheque when it was 'finished')

i cancelled a cheque once. my mk1 went in for a clutch and the bloke kept it for 4 days and used it to run about it! how rude!
so i paid by cheque then went an cancelled it!

i have been for estimates today and both place said they can do the front of my wings where they are a bit tatty but one of them wouldnt do the front of my bonnet, they other will tho.
gonna be about ?500 i think so they def wont write it off for that.
