So how are the dailies doing?
I'm using mine everyday but then again it is locked up in a garage overnight which is about 5C warmer than outside so no freezing pipes for me. I'm pleased to report that the legendary German engineering means she's starting first time every time and hasn't missed a beat yet.
My only trouble is the lack of grip from my Yoko tyres, amazing in the dry terrible in the wet and hopeless on ice. After one scare over a humped back bridge I'm now leaving plenty of stopping distance.
How are all you other daily drivers getting on?

Nothing has frozen except my washer jets, and it's running really well. Always parked outside and survived Christmas/New Year in Sunderland without getting anything snapped off by naughty boys, so I'm feeling rather smug*. Methinks I got a good egg.

That's sour, though I don't think doors freezing shut is exclusively a mk1 thing
Dash lights are a right pain in the arse to do though, not the easiest thing in the world to get to, even worse if you don't have a socket you can use to take the steering wheel off, as was the case when I did mine

Whats the best brand?
Anyway mines starting fine even in the coldest of weather and its street parked, just have to do a weird jiggling of the accelerator turn key keep jiggling and once its running its fine, it stalls at about mid-temp but my carb has 'issues' and its too cold for carb stripping
