Series 1 v series 2

Seeing I have just got a series 1 project  can someone
Tell me what the main difference is the main one is
Back panel/lights what else is there as am only used
To my series2 but it's getting tuned so not got that to
But side by side thx billy

There are loads and loads of diffrences mate.  Seats, belts and catches, dash, steering wheel, boot, numerous engine parts etc etc lots of small details.

On your 1980 it will be as listed

Externally it's the rear panel, mirrors, side trims (thin black /chrome)

Internally pretty much everything.

Engine, pretty much the same as a s2 of the same model.

Yes it's all the same, actually your slam panel is different as well.

Are the doors not different due to the smaller catches?

Its quite a late S1 billy so will have some cross over bits on it.

Boot is different, radiator, cowling, front panel, various engine parts.  There is litterally hundreds of little changes

Am not really  worried about the engine side
Just the body panels as i think the tail gate to far gone
And need to no if the doors and wings are dirrerent thx

whats different on the boot on a 80s1 vs a s2?

winston, the catches will be the same as the s2 on this year.

Tailgate different but will physically fit, doors the same.

The inside of the boot is slightly different, externally they look and behave the same so you can fit a s2 boot to your s1, thats what ive done on my s1.

As said doors are the same.

There are other differences that most people don't even know about, brake servo for instance.  Petrol cap is different, fuel pump is mounted in a different place.  If you counted every single difference there would be lots and lots! What help do you need specifically mate?

Front Inner wings,wings,front panel are different.

The main difference is S1 Mk1s are cooler!  8)

What year did the turn from a Series 1 to a series 2?
