Hi,

I have seen a rivage for sale in my local Facebook buy/sell adverts. It's done 49k, green, Ronals not le castellets but its a Cat C following damage to front wing/door. He's asking £1800. What's a Cat C rivage with 49k worth when tidied/mint? Thanks

Lets assume that its in average condition and it had never been recorded. I'd estimate a value of £2500
As it has been recorded I'd say £1250-£1500

Also unless there is photographic proof of the prio damage you can take what is said with a pinch of salt.

No photos of prior damage. However, I've been told there was no panel damage as I first stated. It was Cat C for cosmetic damage. The car has been resprayed.

So your assuming his word is the truth then.
For all you know it could of been stolen recovered, or had a fire.

What year was it damaged?

I'm sure I've seen a car like this for sale earlier in the year on piston heads and it was thereafter listed on this forum…

That's what they're telling me. I have no idea if its the truth or not at this moment.

It was registered in 1998.

I'm sure I saw it on eBay too. It was in Shrewsbury then.

49k is good miles but i would say £1800 is too much for a cat C. Have they got all MOT's etc to back up mileage as well?

Seems insurers are keen to Cat C MK1's due to the cost of repairs and lack of parts for relatively minor things.

Patsy is a Cat C due to a minor low speed car park ding that resulted in a dented drivers side wing. They said it would cost over £1900 to repair and Cat C'd her on that basis when in fact it only cost £500 to sort.  :P  :P  :P
