I had a go at making a few of these radiator cards which sit on top of the radiator between the two radiator support brackets.
Used a material called millboard (a compressed card) with a little help from Anna and Matt on the forum.
They have a nice textured finish with the VW part number 171 121 293 G lasered engraved on.
Proper vent out as per original.
Interested in your feedback and if anyone wan't one I have a few in my parts bin on my website.

I did a 120 mile drive yesterday in the sportline with the new card in and no issues. Worked very well.
I have sprayed up another with some clear lacquer front and back just to waterproof it - looks the part!

I have to say the quality is top-notch! If I was told they were OEM I'd believe it. They're made from a nice quality, thick card and it's a nice touch with the VW logo and part number on looks good
….and Hugh as mentioned, if you start to do boot cards too….

Thanks Andy for the feedback and glad it arrived safe and sound. I'll need a template/drawing for the boot cards and I'll run you off a set.

They work out approx 590 x 62 x 2.5 mm in length.r_chez_08 said
Do these fit small blocks?
I can run you off any size you want. (600 mm is the biggest dimension I can laser cut & if any bigger than 600mm it goes in a double the postage price bracket too).
Best measure up and tell me what you need.

I'll have to dig the old ones out from wherever I buried them but would be up for that
