power steering kit? whats needed? anyone want one?

i've been thinking of knocking a kit together using a corsa be steering unit.

and if anyone knows what else is needed to get this setup to wor i would really apreciate it.

this brings me on to the second part. i was also going to put together a few of these as its easy to knock up 4 as it is to knock up one.

would anyone be interested should i make them? if so wqhat are they worth?

Hey mate- I'd be very interested in a kit, but I know that Rich at Crazyquiff is developing one now- might be worth speaking to him.

Really ?
Crazyquiff has kept that quiet.
Come on Rich spill the beans - will it be TSR style or Corsa style ?

The mrs loves her cabby, but would love power steering for parking !!

Ade

Interesting, I have followed the Corsa conversion threads but considered it too much work to do, especially with the bits that needed welding.

Would be very interested in a bolt on solution !!

Hi Guys,

Yes we have our power steering model in pre-production at the mo.  Once we have it back we'll be testing on my cabby and then going into full production.  We have a quite a waiting list already.

The prototype worked really well allowing full lock to lock with one finger.

It's a fully bolt in kit - no drilling required - just spanner out the old column and spanner in the new  :D

They will come with all the parts required including the power loom, fully guaranteed and tested.  They will come with installation instruction or, we will be able to fit them.  Suitable for both hatch and cabs.

Cheers

Pricing's a bit of an unknown at the mo - once the pre production model is built we can do a sensible costing.

We have to consider quite a bit in the costing:

Profession manufacture
Design time
Liability insurance
Warrenties
Core parts and materials
etc

Having said that I'm expecting them to be between ?500-?600

So, if interested, send me an e-mail at crazyquiff golfmk1 .co.uk and I'll put you on the mailing list for them so you get early updates.

Cheers
