Post pics of your 'non clipper' cabbys
I have a cabby GTi with big bumpers, skirt etc. But I absolutly love tintops without the clipper kit on. So just wondering what my cabriolet would look like if I took the clipper kit off and made it retro

i did consider bringing the rack but the amount of noise it makes, bearing in mind its 330 miles there, would have done me head in so i left it at home.
next year, itll be on cos i regretted not taking it as sson as i arrived.

Here's my '82 GL Cabriolet, I prefer the non-clipper cabrio's, think they're a rarer sight than clippers.

can i just clear up. You said post pics of your non-clipper cabrios…..
well here is mine:
Although is does have big bumpers, they are not clipper bumpers, yes they were fitted to clippers which became known as a 'clipper kit' but my car is a GTI and has 90 spec GTI bumpers, not clipper ones.
Also the first car pictured is a clipper without big bumpers, they didnt put big bumpers on the clipper untill 1988 so technically they are not really clipper bumpers atall.
Sorry, just get a bit tired of people assuming cars are clippers if they have the big bumpers fitted.
Rant over !
ps. i wouldnt take my big bumpers off, much prefer the more modern look big bumpers. up to you though obviously!

So what is a "Clipper" without big bumpers? What is the spec that makes it different from another small bumper early model?
