pains me to even think..

iv been looking for about 6months now and just can't seen to find a lovely mk1 1.3 for around the 4000£ mark, seeing as I have little room for doing work on it. So it seems that I may have to just call it a lost cause and get a mk4, if I can't find what I'm looking for soon(ish)

hopefully someone needs the cash for christmas and decides to sell haha, would be a great Christmas present for me.

£4k will buy you plenty bud, prob worth opting for a diff lump…you could even just buy a minty shell and er downgrade the eng to your pref

4k for a 1300? how come you want a 1300 and want to spend 4k on such a tiny engined car. im not knocking 1300s as i have one, but would you rather get a gti or something?

I wish I could have 4 grands worth of mk1! You shouldn't have to spend that much to get a mk1 in great condition, but obviously you will be getting pretty much the best of the best for that much money  

Mk1s aren't a car that are readily available and tend to surface when you aren't in a position to buy one So you've gotta try to be patient and eventually the right one should pop up for you while you still have the money

Hang in there pal! 4 large should buy you a nice Mk1. To be fair, if you have all that Dollar burning a hole in your pocket Im suprised your not cruising in one already!

it's really annoying to be honest I have the money sat here waiting and I can't get the mk1 I want, and don't really want to get a mk4 because the mk1s are so nice. the 1300 engine is more for insurance reasons as I can't get a gti insured I'm afraid (I tried). I really wanted to spend the full around 4k as there's not much room here to do my own work and figured 4k would get me a very nice one. everyone keep your eyes peeled for me
