Origonal mk1 golf gti colours?

Does anybody know all the origonal colours for the gti? As im trying to choose a colour for mine because im doing a complete restoration.
Half way through the bodywork at the moment. Do not like bodywork.

it's come up a few times, but being half asleep it's easier to list them than search at the moment  


Schwartz Black
Alphine White
Mars Red (there's 2 variations of mars red… can't remember which is for the series 1 and series 2 though)
Lhasa Green
Helious Blue
Silver

Think that's all of them

there is the odd exception, a very late Oak green Mk1

What colour was is originally?

Originaly my car was oak green. Not much of origonal paint left on it now.
New colour is a hard choice. hmmm

oops my mistake i just checked out the colours and it was the lhasa green, thats what i meant. Somebody descibed it to me as the oak green colour.

wow! when i read that post saying it was oak green i nearly pooped myself! 2 of what could be the rarest colour going turning up within a week of each other!  8O

only problem with that is that its for US spec golfs so the colours may not be right.

You can also find the colours using the ETKA program. What year is the GTI, I will look it up.  

I did a search on ETKA for a Golf 1-8-80 to 31-7-81 and got the following paint codes:
Alpine white - 90E
Ascot grey - A7A
Diamond silver metallic - 97A
Inari silver metallic(Green) - 94A
Indiana red metallic - A3V
Lagos yellow - K1A
Lemon yellow - A1D
Lido green - A6B
Malaga red - 30C
Mars red - A3A
Mexico beige - E1M
Monaco blue - A5D
Onyx metallic(Green) - D6V
Regatta blue metallic - B5Y
Velvet orange - A2A
Sand metallic(Beige) - A1V
Black - 041
Of course this is for all Golf models and not just GTI's but hopefully you can work out which colour you need.

I might go with a non-original colour now. Like That realy light green colour on some special edition mk2 golf gti. Or a Bright orange, or a matt darkish green colour. hmmm

You all may frown at me for that.

My gti is an 82 one. With abit of rust.
