Ordering new parts......

I'm not happy with GSF at the moment!!! Is is reasonable to expect to pay for 2 brand new wings for the golf and to get them without any dents in them?
I got my delivery today and opened the box up to a mountain of packaging and the wings were lying on top of one another at the bottom of the box. What's the point of all that packaing if they ain't gonna pack it right.
They should have been sandwiched between the packaging at least….Maybe then they wouln't have been dented so badly.

One of the wings is damaged with a huge dent across the coachline/edge and has a bad dent on the arch, The other isn't as bad but has small dents all over it.
I really wanted to put them onthe car with minimal fuss and as little bodyfiller used as possible!

Anyway! Phoned up and spoke to a girl called julie from the heathrow depot and explained the problem. She'll call me back in a bit.

Will keep you posted!

I got a wing for my mk1 from GSF  and when I went to pick it up they brought it out loose and gave me a disclaimer sheet I had to sign saying
I accepted the condition it was in and that there was no damage.

I think they'll sort you out because that's just not on.

Yradave says relax.

I know what you mean there, i ordered a few parts from GSF online, huge box arrived, all parts at the bottom of the box thrown in with all the packaging on top… Plus i had a small light relay in there, which took me half hour to find in amongst teh packaging..
Decided never to use online again…

fast delivery, but poor packing.

You know…Funnily enough! I bought a hazard relay too lol! Took me ages to find it! Anyway…..
Julie phoned back and told me that due to there being too much paperwork involved and the fact that there is a postal strike….. They're refunding me the price of two wings, They aren't even gonna bother to pick them up, She then said that my best bet was to go to the glasgow branch and pick them up directly and then I could see them for myself before I pay for them.
They don't have any in stock unfortunatly, Birmingham does however but they have to be sent to heathrow before they get sent to glasgow  :dontknow: Hmmm…….

Think I might just buy a set of panel beating tools with my refund and try and hammer them into shape and then apply some filler to smooth them off. They don't look that bad all of a sudden lol!

Seriously though! If they refund my money I'll just get the glasgow branch to get me them but I won't pay for them if they too are damaged!

To be honest you've probably had a lucky escape there, pattern wings are a notoriously bad fit. You should be able to get some genuine ones for about ?90 each from Crazyquiff, GPC or VW. If you can't afford that, then source some decent 2nd hand genuine ones.
